About This Place

Rosa Madera is a vibrant Mexican restaurant nestled in the heart of Sacramento at 7521 W Stockton Blvd, where authentic flavors blend effortlessly with a lively and inviting atmosphere. From the moment you step inside, you’re embraced by warm, festive decor accented with carefully curated art that elevates the dining experience beyond just a meal. Whether you’re dining solo, with family, or celebrating with friends, Rosa Madera’s ambiance is designed to amplify your connection to Mexico’s rich culinary traditions.

The menu is a true celebration of Mexican cuisine, featuring standout dishes that boast deep, bold flavors and fresh, thoughtful preparations. Fans rave about the Enchiladas Verdes, whose tangy tomatillo sauce perfectly complements tender chicken and melted cheese. Another must-try is the Molcajete, a sizzling stone bowl filled with an enticing mix of grilled meats, fresh vegetables, and flavorful sauces that awaken the palate with every bite. The Nachos Al Pastor offer a deliciously layered crunch, topped with succulent, marinated pork that’s both smoky and sweet, while the Birria Chimichangas bring a comforting, rich enveloping fold of spicy, slow-cooked beef wrapped in crispy tortillas.

For those seeking fresh, lighter options, the Baja Fish Tacos deliver a coastal inspiration, paired beautifully with vibrant salsas and a hint of citrus, though some diners note a unique twist on this Baja classic that creates a new flavor experience altogether. The Tacos de Chicharrón promise a crunchy yet tender bite, perfectly offset by Valentina hot sauce’s subtle heat, a favorite among local patrons.

Rosa Madera doesn’t just stop at savory dishes. Their dessert menu is equally tempting — the Flan is silky and rich, a sweet finale that melts delightfully on the tongue, while the Fried Ice Cream offers a playful contrast of textures and temperatures. For those who appreciate a crafted cocktail, choices like the Pomegranate Margarita and the bold, invigorating Espresso Martini provide a perfect accompaniment to any meal, rounding out an exceptional dining ritual.

Guests frequently speak to the vibrant energy of the restaurant, especially impressed by the live mariachi bands that enliven Sunday brunches and evening dinners alike. The staff’s kindness and attentiveness, paired with the festive atmosphere, make Rosa Madera a place where celebrations are elevated and casual nights out are transformed into memorable experiences.

Whether you’re savoring the comforting Bistec Ranchero, sharing a round of Queso Con Chorizo with friends, or diving into a rich Mar Y Tierra, Rosa Madera invites you to indulge your senses with every bite and sip. It’s a culinary escape that invites repetition — many patrons, like Fiore San Miguel, return time and again, drawn by the promise of quality food, expertly crafted drinks, and a space that feels like a spirited celebration of Mexican culture.

In summary, Rosa Madera delivers an authentic yet creatively spirited take on Mexican dining in Sacramento. Each dish tells a story, every ingredient is thoughtfully prepared, and the welcoming vibe makes it clear why so many locals have made it their go-to spot for both family dinners and lively gatherings. For those seeking robust flavors alongside an unforgettable atmosphere, Rosa Madera truly shines.

Food is great, delicious, second time going there and hasn’t disappointed. My Family loves this place , ordered different dishes so we can taste it all (4 ) . Drinks are good, horchata a bit sweeter but I love it either way , and agua de fresa was on point! My fav dish I would said is the ribs in red sauce !! Can’t wait to come back!

We came here on a Sunday for brunch, the atmosphere was fun. I ordered the chorizo con papas skillet and a guava mimosa, both were great. The service was a bit slow, however it was very busy.

Atmosphere is above and beyond especially for the area. The cocktails are great and the food ( we ordered …(no chips and salsa) fish tacos and birria chimichangas, both ok. Fish tacos are not traditional to Baja tho they claim to be. I would know I lived there. Too greasy too much cheese. But maybe that’s your thing. Loved the mariachi band and atmosphere. Would def come again maybe try something else on menu.

Came here for the first time with a party of 7 and was immediately greeted by the music and kind staff. Such a beautiful restaurant. You can tell they put so much effort in every little piece of art inside. The food was amazing as well. For the first time, I really liked the Mexican rice and beans. I thought it went really well with my main dish! My sisters loved their meal and vibe too. Will be coming back soon. Thank you for the awesome service.

i recently visited Rosa Madera in Sacramento, and everything from the food to the atmosphere was amazing. We started with chicharrones de harina drizzled in Valentina - light, crispy, and full of flavor. The nachos al pastor were loaded and satisfying, with tender meat and plenty of toppings in every bite. The birria tacos were rich and savory, perfectly paired with the flavorful rice and beans on the side. The server was so nice too! she pulled our seats for us and constantly checked in wondering if everything was good The ambience inside is absolutely gorgeous -- elegant and upscale, the kind of place that feels perfect for a special occasion while still being comfortable enough to relax and enjoy. It's definitely on the fancier side, but the prices are worth every penny for the quality and presentation you get. Rosa Madera is a spot l'd happily return to when I want great Mexican food in a beautiful setting.

I came here today around 5:30 pm. We ordered the carne asada fries, guacamole with chips, enchiladas verdes, enchiladas con mole, quesabirria tacos, and fried ice cream. The food was very good! We got here in time for happy hour, which is 2-6 pm. They didn’t have the happy hour menus on the table so just make sure to ask for them! The service was pretty good, just a bit inattentive, but they were busy, so I understand. I would definitely recommend!

It was a request from a friend for her BD lunch. I had no idea it was the old La Estrella building with new ownership and total beautiful revamp. Food was amazing. The only thing I would have preferred whole pinto or refried beans instead of a puree. Food was reasonably priced. It was the bottle of mimosas that added up. I will definitely be back!!! Flavors were incredible!
